June 5, 2025 -Matawan, the French leader in smart mobility technology, and EASIER, a brand of the IER Group specialising in self-service solutions, are joining forces to install Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs). The aim of this partnership is to pool expertise in order to offer small and medium-sized transport networks solutions tailored to their needs. Initially, this collaboration will enable the roll-out of more than 120 TVMs in Martinique, Reims, Thonon-les-Bains, La Rochelle, and beyond.

A comprehensive offering to provide small and medium-sized transport networks with access to ticket vending machines.

With ticket vending machines historically reserved for large networks due to high costs and complex technical requirements, Matawan and EASIER wanted to change the model by offering a standardised, accessible and highly functional solution. Together, they offer a ‘full ABT’ (Account Based Ticketing) TVM designed to meet the needs of small and medium-sized networks while remaining scalable.

The offer, integrated into a SaaS model, includes a complete software package (sales, payment processing, maintenance, support) and customisation options for rapid and cost-effective deployment, even on a small scale.

A practical solution to regional accessibility issues

Beyond technological innovation, this partnership embodies a shared vision: to improve mobility for all with a solution that is accessible 24/7, user-friendly, adapted to persons with reduced mobility (PRM) and designed to stand the test of time. TVMs allow users to purchase single tickets by credit card or cash, top up travel cards using contactless payment, and pay fines directly at the ticket machine. This development facilitates access to transport, including in areas not covered by agencies or ticket offices.

By pooling purchase volumes and ensuring industrial quality, Matawan and EASIER enable less densely populated regions to be equipped without compromising on performance, while reducing waiting times at physical points of sale. This is a concrete, inclusive and sustainable response to the new challenges of mobility.

“These actions fully illustrate EASIER’s ability to put its French industrial and technological know-how at the service of mobility. By combining our expertise, we are providing transport networks of all sizes with self-service solutions that were previously reserved for large operators.” Alain Combette, Land Transport Sales Director

Martinique at the forefront

This alliance of expertise caught the attention of Martinique Transport, which aims to unify local transport networks and significantly improve the user experience. As a result, nearly 40 new TVMs will be rolled out in mid-May 2025 in strategic areas of the island – particularly on major routes such as the one connecting the airport to Fort-de-France and the maritime terminals – to facilitate ticket purchases for shuttles connecting different key points along the coast. The remaining equipment will further improve service accessibility, particularly in transport hubs and near ticket kiosks throughout the region.

“This partnership with EASIER fully embodies our mission of making mobility accessible everywhere and for everyone. By combining our expertise, we are offering less densely populated areas high-quality industrial solutions that were previously only available to large networks. Thanks to a shared approach and an agile SaaS model, we enable every network, no matter how small, to offer a modern, seamless and inclusive service to its users,” said Jérôme Tredan, CEO of Matawan.
